Solve

Susan has 45 hats in 10 cupboards her friends borrowed some of the hats. Nicky borrowed 3 hats and Shelly borrowed 2 hats. If Susan divided the remaining hats into the cupboards, how many hats would be in each cupboard? Explain.

    She would have 4 in each cupboard because 45-5=40 then we divide 40 by 10 because thats how many cupboards she has and that equals 4.

    In all, 5 hats would be taken so you must do 45-5=40, then divide 40 by 10 since there are 10 cupboards. The answer would be 4
