Thad an Old Navy coupon for 25% off, so I went shopping for some new clothes.

At Old Navy a jean jacket costs $40, jeans cost $34 and a shirt costs $18. I bought

a jean jacket, a pair of jeans and three shirts. What was my discounted price

before sales tax? *

    Discounted price before sales tax = 75/100 x (40 + 24 + 18 x 3) = 3/4 x (64 + 54) = 3/4 x 118 = $88.5

    Total price inclusive of sales tax = 107/100 x 88.5 = $94.69
