I arrive home to find that my 50 foot by 40 foot basement has 18 inches of water in it.

- If 1 cubic foot contains 7.48 gallons, how many gallons of water are in my basement?

- If I have a pump that can move 1000 gallons of water per hour, how many hours will it take to remove the water from my basement?

    First convert all your measurents into inches 600in, 480in, 18in then multiply them to get 5184000 cubic inches, convert cubic inches to gallons and you have 22441US gal lqd divide 22441 by 1000 and it will take you 22.441 hours
