Anna has a total of 40 goldfish in her aquarium, some are orange and some are black. The number of orange goldfish is 5 more than

twice the number of black goldfish. Which system of equations below can be used to describe the number of black and orange

    orange fish are 5 more than twice black

    meaning, x=2y+5

    Also, orignal equation would be 40=x+y

    so it would be 40 = (2y+5) + y

    or, 40=3y+5

    then solve

    35=3y

    so about 12 orange fish
