In simplest radical form the #sqrt54# is written #3sqrt6#. When reducing a square root you want to find the biggest perfect square that is a factor of the radicand, the number inside the square root symbol which is called a radical.

Separate the perfect squares from the original radical. for example

    √50

    separate √25 and √2

    you have 5√2 or 5*√2
