Mick paid $2.94 in a sale tax an item that cost $42.00 before tax. At that rate, how much would he pay in sales tax for an item that cost $58.00 before tax?

    So I think that the sale tax it $0.07 for every $1 bc 2.94 divided by 42 = 0.07 and 0.07•58=4.06 So the sales tax for an item that cost $58.00 is $4.06
