The sequence is starting at 40, then 10, then 5/2 ... so on.
It has a common ratio of 1/4.
So the pattern is multiplying each number by 1/4
40 x1/4 = 10
10 x 1/4 = 5/2
5/2 x 1/4 = 5/8
next should be 5/8 x 1/4 = 5/32
