    We set up an equation for this. P = 2L + 2W. 24 = 2 (3W-8) + 2W

    24 = 6W + 2W - 16

    32 = 8W

    W = 4.

    L = 3W-8

    L = 3 (4) - 8

    L = 12-8

    L = 4
