    Explanation; Momentum is a vector which is often defined as the product of an object's mass with its velocity. Two factors affecting momentum is the mass and velocity of the object. An object that has a low velocity and a small mass produce minimal momentum because it would take a small force and/or time to stop it. Therefore, choosing a heavier bat would increase the momentum of the plate.
