Explanation:
According to calculations the electron travels at about 2,200 kilometers per second. That's less than 1% of the speed of light, but it's fast enough to get it around the Earth in just over 18 seconds. But according to CERN, they state on their own website that the relative speed of the protons is 0.9999c. So the speed given by you in the question is not correct which makes the statement false.
