Why do responsible consumers use credit and credit cards?

Credit cards give you rewards for using it. If you're responsible and pay when your money is due, you get rewards for using it with no cons. If you have a debit card, you can't not pay up so you don't have to give a loan (you do have to take out a loan with credit cards and pay huge interest) but you get no rewards (e. g. 3% cash back on gas)
