The molar heat capacity is the heat capacity per unit amount (SI unit: mole) of a pure substance and the specific heat capacity, often called simply specific heat, is the heat capacity per unit mass of a material.

The unit is kgm^2/Ks^2
We know that kg*m/s^2 = N
This makes the formula Nm/K
We know that Nm = J
So the simple unit is J/K
Tip: If you don't know the unit, look at the formula. Often you can get the unit out of it. Also, if you know the unit you can get the formula easily too (if the formula exists out of the 7 prime SI units)
