    The velocity of the ping-pong ball is, v = 11369.47 m/s

    Explanation:

    The given data,

    The mass of the bowling ball, M = 5.8 kg

    The velocity of the ball, V = 4.34 m/s

    The mass of the ping-pong ball, m = 2.214 g

    = 0.002214 kg

    The velocity of the ping-pong ball, v = ?

    The momentum of the bowling ball,

    MV = 5.8 x 4.34

    = 25.172 kg m/s

    Since the momentum of the balls are equal

    MV = mv

    v = MV/m

    Substituting,

    v = 25.172 / 0.002214

    = 11369.47 m/s

    Hence, the velocity of the ping-pong ball is, v = 11369.47 m/s
