using the Mass-Energy equivalence formula,
i. e E = mc²
where
E = energy
m = mass = given as 0.026 kg
c = speed of light = which we will assume to be 3 x 10⁸ m/s
substituting the above into the formula
E = mc²
= 0.026 x (3 x 10⁸) ²
= 0.026 x (9 x 10¹⁶)
= 2.34 x 10¹⁵ J
