A chunk of iron weighing a few kilograms flies into the inner Solar System, is captured by Earth's gravity, enters the atmosphere burning brightly, and lands on solid ground. Three different names apply to the different stages of its journey. Place them in order from first to last.

    Meteoroid: A small part of a comet or asteroid that orbits the Sun.

    Meteor: the light occurrences resulting from a meteoroid entering and vaporizing the Earth's atmosphere; for example a shooting star.

    Meteorite: A meteoroid that completes its journey through the atmosphere of the Earth and lands on the surface of the Earth.

    So, When the chunk of iron was flying in spaces and attracted by the Earth's gravity is called Meteoroid.

    When it entered the atmosphere burning brightly it is called Meteor.

    The solid part that lands on the ground is called Meteorite.
