How do you determine if a charged comb is positively charged or negatively charged. Suppose it is positively charged, it will attract negative charge on the electroscope and the positive charges on the leaves will repel. If it is negatively charged, it will attract positive charge leaving the negative leaves to repel

    Generally, whenever an object is charged via friction, such as in the case of a comb, it gathers a negative charge because the rubbing brings forth electrons. If the charge is induced using another already charged object, then the charge is positive. If it is positively charged, it will attract the negative charge and cause the leaves to repel.
