    I = 0.5 kg. m/s

    Explanation:

    given,

    mass of the cart = 0.5 Kg

    initial speed of cart, u = 0.6 m/s

    final speed of cart, v = - 0.4 m/s

    impulse of the cart = ?

    impulse is equal to the change of the momentum of the cart.

    I = m u - m v

    I = m (u - v)

    I = 0.5 (0.6 - (-0.4))

    I = 0.5 x 1

    I = 0.5 kg. m/s

    impulse on the cart is equal to 0.5 kg. m/s
