Cavendish bananas are a popular species among banana growers because they're predictable. All of these bananas are grown to have the exact same genetic structure. How's this possible? A.     The banana plant does not grow through sexual reproduction instead it grows through vegetative propagation. The banana plant do not grow seeds thus cannot grow sexually. The banana plant can be grown through bulb or rhizome. It takes 9-12 months to the banana plant to grow and produce fruits. The fruits so produced are the clones of each other as they have grown through vegetative reproduction procedure. They have same genetic and morphological characteristics as that in parents and among themselves.
