A citizen is a person who is a member of our country. As a citizen, you give your loyalty to the U. S. government. In return, the government protects you and all your rights granted in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.

If you were born in the United States, you are already a citizen. If you were born in a U. S. territory or another country and one of your parents is a citizen, then you are a citizen.

Being born in the US or one of it's territories makes you a birthright citizen. You can also aquire citizenship if your parents are both citizens, and if one or more of you parents are natural citizen, you may be a citizen.
