    He was Art Hickman.

    Explanation:

    Arthur George Hickman was a drummer, pianist and bandleader. He wasn't really famous but he was known to include jazz with a saxophone section during his dance orchestra, which had never been done before.

    He founded his sextet (group of 6 playing music together) in 1913 in San Francisco.
