when Ariel gives Maria her swim cap

    Explanation:

In a story, falling action usually occurs after the climax and before the resolution.

In The meet by Madelyn Srin, both Ariel and Maria are swimmers who will face off with one another in a swimming competition.

Maria has a pink swim cap which she believed to be her lucky charm. She doesn't believe that she can win the competition without it. Ariel know this and managed to find the pink cap (this is the climax). But, Ariel was unsure on whether she should give the cap back to Maria or keep it for herself. She knew that if she keep it, Maria will more likely lost confidence and she will win the competition.

But in the end, Ariel decided to give Maria her swim cap back. The story reach its conclusion when both of the girls compete fairly and Ariel realized that integrity is far more important than winning.
