A researcher wishes to study the effects of a low-fat diet on self-esteem, weight, and energy levels among obese women over age 40. Which is the independent variable in this study?

    low fat diet on obese women over 40. It's not a very well thought out experiment. How obese is obese? Over 40 is not much of a criteria. What about initial height and weight? And background? You need to be using the same sample as much as you can.

    Then there are the dependent variables. Usually you just test for one, not three. I answered this just in case you needed it.
