The small states were the ones who were happier with the new constitution. The big states were happier with the old articles of confederation.

Explanation:

With the new constitution small states were benefited, because the new constitution allowed these states to have a greater representation in the senate of the country, because even if the population of these states were smaller, they could have the same number of senators as the big states.

On the other hand, the larger states were benefited by the old articles of the confederation which argued that these states should have a greater representation in the federal senate, since they had the population bigger than the population of the small states.
