How are emotions and moods different? Emotions are relatively enduring, whereas moods are short lived. Emotions have an identifiable cause, whereas moods do not. Emotions are specific feelings, whereas moods are more general. Emotions affect communication, but moods do not. Moods and emotions affect communication because depending on how you feel emotionally will affect your mood. When you are in a bad mood, your tone of voice is likely to be strong and harsh. When you are in a good mood your emotions will be happy and your tone will be much lighter. Emotions and moods differ in a lot of ways but also relate to one another and can stem from each other.
