Goffman's Theory compares everyday life and the individuals within society to theater and actors. Such so that he believes that each individual is playing a variety of different roles within society. Applied to modern racism, Goffman's theory would state that people are hesitant to share their true feelings in public if they know such beliefs are not acceptable.
