The similarities that existed between the ancient civilizations of Mesoamerica and South America and those of Africa and Asia are:

1) They are all involved in cultivation of Maize (corn)

2) They are also involved in performing human sacrifice during the time.

3) They also both acquired a calendar which was produced and use by the earlier Olmec civilization.
