    structural functionalism

The study of structural functionalism began in contrast to the evolutionary theory. It is founded by the British social anthropologist A. R. Radcliffe-Brown, who explained that it is based on the social structures and how social customs are used to maintain these social structure. He viewed society as an organism that works properly with the proper functioning of its different parts. His belief that social phenomenon were formed within social levels ignores the other factors of conflict and tension within the society.
