For Athenian boys, they experience being taught by several teaching. Until they turn 6, they are taught at home by their mother or male slave. When they are older, aging 6 to 14, they enter primary school. They are taught by a male teacher. This is always the case. After they become 16, their basic education is complete. If they don’t have to work, they can study the sciences and philosophy. When they reach 18, healthy men receive military training from the army or the navy.
