Due to family, school, and social activities, children at this age bracket tend to sleep later compared to when they were younger. At this age, it is expected for children to sleep between 8 and half hours to 10 hours. Getting the average, the amount of sleep needed is determined to be 9 hours. It is further supported by a study conducted by the Brigham Young University in Utah where they identified that the average sleeping time of academically excelling students is approximately 9 hours.
