Your friend, who is an athlete and planning on running his third marathon of the year next weekend states, "I’ve got to go outside in just a little while, I need to get in a two hour training run so I can be ready next week.     For been an athlete, he also is at equal risk just like a sick and little kid.

    Explanation:

    Poor quality air especially in the city should be of major concern to him most especially him been an athlete. Vulnerability to ozone effects is greater for those who spend time outdoors, especially with physical exertion, because this results in a higher cumulative dose of ozone to their lungs.

    It has been firmly established that breathing ozone results in short-term decreases in lung function and damages the cells lining the lungs. It also increases the incidence of asthma-related hospital visits and premature deaths
