Why is agriculture often considered an example of perfect competition?

    Perfect competition is a market situation in which there are numerous buyers and sellers, and no single buyer or seller can affect price. Because farmers have almost no control over the market price of their goods and can not influence the market, agriculture is often used as an example of perfect competition.
