Why was galileo galilei charged with heresy?

When we think about an accusation against Galileo we normally say what! he was a great scientist and astronomer. But like all we make mistakes, he was charged because of his Copernican heliocentric writings. What these writings meant was earth revolved around the sun and not the other way around
