    Schizophrenia Example

    Explanation:

Diathesis Stress Model is a theory stating that; mental & physical disorders develop due to genetic or biological pre-dispositional vulnerability for that illness [diathesis], complemented with stressful circumstances as a catalyst facilitator role.

The model asserts that how biological history, features & environment work together on people. Example is : Schizophrenia - Stress' effect of cortisol production leads to magnification of already pre-existing genetic vulnerability to it. And, this would lead to more probability of the person being schizophrenic, or suffer worse symptoms of Schizophrenia
