    Libertarianism is a political philosophy which values freedom as the main principle. Through history, it's main proponents were Ayn Rand, Milton Friedman, Friedrich Hayek, etc.

    Libertarians believe in the minimal state, or in other words that the state should not be involved into decision making process. It's whole purpose should be to ensure the freedom for people to make up their own decisions. In economy they believe in the laissez-faire free market capitalism. According to this, the sale of marijuana or other illegal substances should allowed. Also, government spending should be minimized, so can the private enterprises thrive freely. This includes spending on prisons, education and health - which are in the big part funded by the government.
