    To decelerate is to slow down.

    Shifting into neutral will only will make the car harder to control

    Stopping the deceleration lane may lead to the person behind you crashing into your vehicle. Highway speed limits are always greater than exit ramp speeds so you would never accelerate to exit ramp speed.
