    The color of the listeners is never stated so we don't know what the importance of that is. Since that is so, the responses of the blacks when different from the whites cannot be the answer.

    So A and C are both wrong for that reason. I don't see how we can distinguish B and D on the basis of what we have been given. There must be more or the question is incomplete.
