At an operation on the East Coast, the salad bar was a popular attraction. A food handler assigned to prep items for the salad bar noticed she had an infected cut on her finger. She bandaged the cut and went to work. While she was tossing the salad, the bandage fell off of her finger and into the lettuce. A short time later, a customer notified the manager that she had found a used bandage in her salad. The manager made the necessary apologies and quickly comped her meal. Fortunately, the customer was very understanding, and the rest of the evening proceeded without incident.
