What was Love Canal? What was the significant hazardous waste event that happened and when did it occur?

Hazardous waste, as you may know, is any waste substance that is harmful to human health or the environment.

Love Canal was an event in which many people suffered, got sick, and had to be evacuated in the 1960's after a chemical company placed and buried 55 gallon steel drums underneath the ground of a local community.
