    D. the opponent process theory

    Explanation:

Opponent Process Theory was created by Solomon and refers to moments where an individual has consecutive emotional reactions where the first is the opposite of the second and vice versa.

This theory explains why people who practice skydiving are afraid in the beginning, but a strong satisfaction in the end. This is because, according to this theory, when we are at the beginning of parachuting we feel a sense of fear and fear because of the dangerousness of the activity. However, this feeling is quickly modified at the end of the activity by a feeling of satisfaction, pleasure and happiness because the individual's subconscious understands that he has accomplished something difficult and dangerous.
