Explain why surface area-to-volume ratios are important in affecting a biological system's ability to obtain necessary resources or eliminate waste products.

    These ratios are super important for communication between cells, getting things into cells, getting rid of waste and pretty much all functions of a cell. Think about some dough. If it is in a ball, it will be pretty hard to get something to all of its parts. Now if this dough is rolled out into a sheet, whatever we are trying to get to the rest of the dough can be easily added to all of it.
