What was native american society like before you European contact? WHat similarities and differences existed?

They had a very native life, had no Christian or Baptist religion, but they had their gods and worshiped figures who were religious to them and represented something. Another important thing is that the natives had certain behaviors similar to the European ones, like the breeding of pets, although they really were used like tool of hunting. Agriculture was also similar, a kind of millennial art, they lived in groups and had a time to hunt, fish or harvest.
