The two type of impulses are the motor and sensory impulses. The motor impulses are those that are provenient from motor neurons or efferent neurons, coming from the central nervous system, and produce effects controlling effector organs, mainly muscles and glands. The sensory impulses are those that come from sensory neurons or afferent neurons in the peripheral nervous system to the central nervous system, as responses to stimulus from outside or inside the body.
