Do you think there is a stigma associated with mentally ill persons today? Why or why not?

    Yes, I believe there is still a stigma. For example, look at a special education kid being bullied in school, kids think that there is something weird about children who are different than them, because they are what they are raised to be considered "the norm." Another stigma that is commonly displayed is how people call Psychiatric Impatient hospitals "Nuthouses" or "Loony bins," because they think that all of the people that go in there are "Crazy." They think that all mentally ill people are people foaming at the mouth, violent, kept in restraints. This is not the case, but this is the stigma wrapped around this.
