What role did women play in creation of the Maori Meeting House?

    Explanation:

    The lattice panels in the meeting house were made by the Maori women. These meeting houses were built before the arrival of Europeans.

    However, due to the cultural and traditional ritual prohibitions, the women were not allowed entrance into the meeting house. They were made to work from the outside of the house and weave the panels from the back.
