The difference in tone between the two ladies is due to the frequency of waves produced per second. Soprano singers produce higher pitched sound waves, whereas an alto singer produces much lower pitched sound waves; this relates to the frequency of the wave, which simply put, is the number of waves produced per second. The female soprano singer, therefore, produces more sound waves per second than the alto singer produces fewer sound waves per second.
