The Ara Pacis Agustae, which is Latin for Altar of Augustan Peace, is more commonly referred to as Ara Pacis. It is an altar that is located in Rome. It is dedicated to Pax who is the Roman goddess of peace. This monument was built on July 4, 13 BC in order to honor Augustus who had returned to Rome after being gone to Gaul and Hispania for three years.
