1. Read code. Open source has made this so easy - find projects you're interested in and study the code.
2. Write code. The only way to get better at coding is by doing it.
3. Build bigger things. Look for projects that challenge your current skills.
4. Meet people.
5. Have a side project.
6. Be open-minded.
