Some things feel just as they appear and this is Actual texture

Texture that is created to look like something it is not is Implied texture.

Texture, like any of the elements of art can also enhance and support the artists concept behind the work. Some artists use texture as a major influence on our response to the work. In any work of art, however, texture can draw us in so we can spend more time on the work.

D art (sculptures, etc). Implied is in 2D art (paintings, drawings, etc).
