The folk art is the art created by formally uneducated artist done with reflection to the traditional work, folklor, and specific regional context and customs. The academic art is the one produced by formally educated artist and usually 'approved' and accepted in artistic circles or certain academic or artisic community.

    Explanation:

The folk art has become part of accepted formal art history and some of the self-educated artists become highly influencing and praised for their work, inlcuding Ruusseau and Moses.

The folk art has two divisions:

Primitive art is traditional (common) art created as folk art.

Naïve art, or naïve art, is an art based on the customs and tradition of folk art of the specific region in question (much like primitive art).
