Why is painting more often associated with art than any other media? What type of painting do you find most interesting? Why?

Painting is more often associated with art because it was one of the first form of arts. Back then, people did not have many medias as we do today Painting can take form in many different styles which is why people back in the day enjoyed it a lot. I like landscape art because it shows the world through paint-strokes and is beautiful.
